Weather plays havoc with Stars’ cup-tie

Free State Stars’ home game against Super Eagles in the Nedbank Cup round of 32 had to be postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Luc Eymael’s side were scheduled to take on their Bethlehem neighbours at Goble Park on Saturday night for a place in the round of 16.

But the cup-tie was abandoned before kick-off after heavy rainfall in the Free State left the surface unplayable.

The Premier Soccer League has yet to announce a new date for the clash, with Ea Lla Koto having almost two weeks off before their trip to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premiership on February 21.
