On Monday, our Multichoice Diski and ABC Motsepe League squads held a soccer clinic at local Clarens Primary School for the hundreds of young students.
The development squad shared their experiences of playing for Free State Stars and taught the future stars a few tricks and skills, before handing over an official team kit, signed by all the players.
Mrs Annetjie Coetzee, the principal of the school, said the kids were thrilled by the initiative taken by Ea Lla Koto and thanked the Premiership club for their role in community development – as role models for the kids of Clarens Primary.
“I am very happy for our school to be visited by a club of Stars statue, it’s really a privilege, honor and a historic moment for the school,” Coetzee said.
“I am certain that this will be a great motivation for the learners to rub shoulders with their stars, I have no doubt that in the coming years the next star will emerge from this school.
“I once again thank Free State Stars for taking their time off their busy schedule and we would like to wish them the best of luck in their coming matches.”
