Free State Stars coach Nikola Kavazovic will be targeting more of the same when his side takes on Cape Town City at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Ea Lla Koto clinched a vital three points last Wednesday as second-half goals from Relebogile Mokhuoane and Sinethemba Jantjie secured a 2-1 win over bottom-of-the-table Maritzburg United.
That result ended a worrying run of three straight defeats and earned Kavazovic’s men some breathing room in the bottom half of the table.
It was also the Serbian mentor’s maiden victory at the Stars helm, and another win tonight could see Ea Lla Koto climb as high as 11th place in the Absa Premiership standings.
Ea Lla Koto will be without the services of five players on Wednesday, after the release of William Twala, Judas Moseamedi, Maboke Matlakala, Thabang Klaas and Cesaire Gandze.
Cape Town City, meanwhile, head into the midweek clash aiming to bounce back to winning ways after a 2-2 draw with Baroka FC at the weekend.
That being said, McCarthy’s men are unbeaten in their last four fixtures and currently occupy seventh place, eight points clear of Stars in 13th.
Kick-off at Cape Town Stadium is at 19h30.
