Free State Stars will make club history on Wednesday when they take on Rwanda’s Mukura Victory Sports in a CAF Confederation Cup tie at the Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg.
Stars earned the right to take part after winning the Nedbank Cup last season and they are making history as it will be their first time taking part in the competition.
The home side go into the contest following some difficult results having lost three and drawn two of their last five matches in all competitions.
The poor run led to Luc Eymael departing and as yet the team are yet to appoint a new permanent man in charge.
Currently, the caretaker coaches are Sly Mosala and David Vilakazi for the tie.
Meanwhile, the visitors are flying high in Rwanda’s National Soccer League and are second place in the standings.
The return leg of this CCC Preliminary Round tie will take place on 5 December at the Stade Huye in Butare.
