Luc Eymael has a full squad to choose from for the trip to Cape Town Stadium to take on Ajax Cape Town on Friday.
The Belgian mentor has led Ea Lla Koto to fourth place on the Premiership standings with 28 points, after four straight wins, and some notable scalps, including beating SuperSport United, Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits and Cape Town City ahead of losing to an in-form Maritzburg United last time out.
A win over the struggling Urban Warriors could see Ea Lla Koto jump from fourth to second, ahead of the rest of the weekend’s fixtures.
In a run of 28 games played against the Urban Warriors, Ea Lla Koto have won 11, and Ajax seven, with 10 ending in a stalemate.
Ahead of this tie, Ajax manager Muhsin Ertugral has said that his side – currently second from bottom on the league standings, with just 16 points – face a tricky test against Eymael’s high-flying side.
He said: “On Friday night we take on a team that is doing really well.
“Tactically they are excellent and we have to be very careful. We have to respect their position on the log standings.”
Ertugral added that new signing Yannick Zakri, is ready to make his Ajax debut following his move from Mamelodi Sundowns, while admitting the club may dip into the transfer market again before the January window closes.
“He is a player I’ve admired for a very long time – he will be ready for Friday and we are looking forward to having him in the squad,” said Ertugral.
“There is a chance that we can bring in one more player before the window shuts…”
