Free State Stars play host to Kaizer Chiefs in a Premiership clash at Goble Park on Wednesday evening, kick-off 7:30pm.
Since the 2005/06 season, both clubs have played a total of 28 matches with Amakhosi winning 16, whilst Ea Lla Koto have three victories. Nine matches have ended in a stalemate.
The last clash between the two sides, in November 2017, ended all square at 1-1, with Bernard Parker cancelling out a Daniel Cardoso own-goal in a tightly contested affair.
Wednesday’s encounter is the first of two games in quick succession over the team from Soweto after being drawn together in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals, with the match taking place on weekend of April 20 2018.
In their last league clash, Amakhosi drew 0-0 with AmaZulu while Ea Lla Koto last lost 1-0 to Chippa United – before Chiefs beat Baroka in the cup, as Stars saw off Ubuntu Cape Town.
And there is just a solitary point separating the two sides on the Premiership standings with Steve Komphela’s side in fifth with 36 points and Luc Eymael’s charges in fourth with 37 points – both from 24 games played.
