Stars gearing up for crunch Shield Cup clash

Development Multichoice Choice Diski assistant coach Duncan Lechesa shared his thoughts ahead of their opener in the MDC 2019 edition Shield Cup, against reigning MDC champions Bloemfontein Celtic.

Ea Lla Koto have been pitted against Cape Town City, Supersport United and Celtic in their group.

The Celtic match will be played on Sunday, 31 March at Dr Petrus Molemela stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 10H00.

“The preparations have gone well so far, we’re just waiting for the first-team coach to decide which first-team players he gives us for the Shield Cup.

“We want to do well this season in the Shield cup. Last season it was the very same Celtic that denied us an opportunity to progress to the next phase of the competition.

“I must admit we really started well in the MDC this season, but the wheels came off in January.

“It will not be easy playing Celtic who have just enjoyed a trip in London, after winning this year’s MDC cup.

“We will try and make life easy for ourselves by winning this clash, and we know every time we play against them it’s a crunch game, there is a lot at stake and FS bragging rights as well.”
