Free State Stars mounted a late comeback as Eleazar Rodgers scored with two minutes remaining to secure a 2-2 draw with Black Leopards at Goble Park on Saturday evening.
Ea Lla Koto had claimed the lead in the 40th minute when, under pressure, Leopards defender Thivhavhudzi Ndou put the ball in his own net.
However, Lidoda Duvha fought back after the half-time break, drawing level through Mwape Musonda’s brilliant header.
And the visitors went on to claim the lead in the 78th minute as Lesedi Kapinga added his name to the scoresheet.
Stars didn’t let their heads drop, though, and their never-say-die attitude finally paid off in the 88th minute as Eleazar Rodgers slotted home to make it 2-2.
While not the ideal result, Stars do pick up a valuable point while also remaining unbeaten after last Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic.
