Themba Sithole says his vision of winning the MultiChoice Diski Challenge with Free State Stars is starting to feel like a real possibility.
Sithole, who also holds the role of Head of Development at Ea Lla Koto issued a statement at the start of the season that he’d love to bring the MDC title to Bethlehem.
And despite an opening day defeat to Maritzburg United, his young stars have emerged as serious contenders with inspiring victories over Ajax Cape Town, Baroka and Amazulu.
Currently in third place, one point behind the first placed Team of Choice, Sithole has now targeted three points over the 2015/16 Champions Golden Arrows on Saturday.
“The team has been working hard after four matches of the Multichoice Diski Challenge,” he said. “There has been a lot of improvement since losing our opening match.
“I am certainly happy with the way the boys are responding and the future looks bright for them.
“Arrows are very difficult package as we have seen in the past, they were once crowned champions and we have watched them a few times. It will certainly be a good match for the spectators.”
With the vision clearly set for the current season, Sithole also mentioned how he intends to develop his current crop of youngsters to be suitably prepared for the rigors of the South African Premiership.
“My objective is clear and that is to prepare and promote as many players as possible to the first team.”
