Head of Development Themba Sithole beamed with confidence on Thursday morning after reporting the outcome of Free State Stars latest Multichoice Diski and ABC Motsepe League additions.
After undergoing extensive scouting and trial periods over the course of the current off season, Sithole and his technical team identified some untapped gems within the country.
“We held very successful trials in and outside our province Free State,” Sithole said. “We have also attended a number of tournaments during the preseason break and the club has identified a few good talents.”
While admitting the turnout to last week’s trails in Free State wasn’t the expected turnout, Sithole remains confident the current crop of players will develop well within the academy to benefit not only Ea Lla Koto – but the youth side’s of South Africa.
“To be honest, I am a bit disappointed with the turn out in our recent trials held in our province but we have managed to get five players from Bethlehem and 2 from QwaQwa.
“Based on the material we have this season I am adamant that we will do well in both the ABC Motsepe and the MDC leagues,” he added.
“Our squad consists of 17 to 22-year-old’s and of which I am sure that in the near future the national junior levels team will benefit a lot from our these talented footballers.”
The players will assemble for their first training session for the pre-season on Monday the 24th July.
