Following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Highlands Park, head coach Serame Letsoaka says Free State Stars can go all the way in the Nedbank Cup.
Goals from midfielders Nhlanhla Vilakazi and Goodman Dlamini against the Lions of the North has seen Ea Lla Koto advance into the last-16 round of the competition.
Letsoaka admits he was pleased with the reaction he sought from his players to avenge their recent Premiership defeat to Gordon Igesund’s side and wants to use the triumph to create momentum going forward.
“We saw a different attitude from last week defeat against Highlands Park, my players played very well and responded very well tactically,” he said.
“The players came with a good winning attitude and they knew we had to win this one.
The last time the Bethlehem based side won the competition dates back 23 years, when the Letsoaka himself lifted the trophy as club captain.
“We want to go all the way as far as the Nedbank cup is concerned. I mean the last time we won the cup was back in 1994.
“We are not going to undermine any opposition given to us during the Nedbank stage, we will be going all out in every match we play whether it’s cup or league fixtures..
“Winning matches will help to build to the next game so it is important that we continue to play well and win matches.”
