General manager of Free State Stars says the club will retain their Premiership status upon receiving the R2 million cash injection from the Free State government.
While voicing his gratitude on behalf of Ea Lla Koto, for the gesture and initiative from the provincial government, Mokoena said the funds will be utilised to make sure the club is in a healthy state come next season.
“We are very pleased with what the FS government has done for us,” he said. “It is an indication that the province is indeed working hard to unsure that they have the best interest of the football development at heart.
“The two clubs did not have a good season but with the little gesture we have received from the government we will ensure that we utilise it wisely and we don’t find ourselves in a similar situation again next season
“We will definitely survive the relegation and we must also ensure that we recruit as many local talent as possible we don’t want our Free State players to be looking for teams elsewhere, when we have Stars and Celtic in our province.”
