Free State Stars and Golden Arrows lock horns in the Premiership at Goble Park on Wednesday with both teams looking to make amends following Telkom Knockout exits at the weekend.
Ea Lla Koto were beaten by Bidvest Wits while Abafana Bes’thende fell to Baroka FC, meaning both will only have league matters to attend to for the remainder of 2018.
The hosts are presently ninth on the table with 11 points from nine games and victory in Bethlehem can move them level on 14 points with third-placed Kaizer Chiefs.
Arrows on the other hand are a place and a point back in 10th, with a win possibly lifting them to seventh.
However, Clinton Larsen’s men have huge injury concerns with most of Zolani Nkombelo, Velemseni Ndwandwe, Limbikani Mzava, Mzwandile Buthelezi, Divine Lunga, Danny Phiri, Knox Mutizwa and Danny Venter likely to miss out.
“We’ve been hit hard by all the injuries and it’s particularly harsh on a squad like ours, which doesn’t have the depth of your big clubs,” the Arrows coach said. “But we’ll soldier on, and as I have done in the past, there’ll be plenty of opportunities for our youngsters in the group.”
Paulus Masehe is the big injury absentee for Luc Eymael’s side, while William Twala faces a late fitness test.
