Free State Stars will look to return to winning ways for the visit of Cape Town City to Goble Park on Wednesday.
Having started the season with a loss to Bidvest Wits, Ea Lla Koto hit back with a 2-1 defeat of Maritzburg before succumbing to AmaZulu at the King Zwelithini Stadium last time out. Stars also went down to Kaizer Chiefs in an MTN8 clash.
Cape Town City, meanwhile, come into this tie on the back of a 1-0 first leg MTN8 defeat of Mamelodi Sundowns, having beaten SuperSport United in the league before losing to Baroka and drawing with Golden Arrows.
Last season, City claimed a 1-0 win at home while secured a 1-0 victory in the return game at Goble Park.
In the four league clashes these two sides have played, both teams have won two, with two goals scored and two conceded.
Following the loss to AmaZulu Stars head coach Luc Eymael said: “It is why Moeneeb Josephs was the Man of the Match. We came five times one-on-one with the goalkeeper and unfortunately we missed.
“Our plan was working very well. We had to be more ruthless and clinical in the box.”
Meanwhile, City defender Taariq Fielies heads into this game full of confidence, saying: “As Roland (Putsche) said, Cape Town is our home and we dictate here. No one has managed to score a goal against us here.”
City are yet to concede at home in the league, but allowed Baroka to find the back of the net twice in their away clash.
The match kicks off at 7:30pm on Wednesday evening.
