Ea Lla Koto downed in Rwanda

Free State Stars bowed out of the Confederations Cup with a 1-0 aggregate loss over two legs to Rwandan side Mukura Victory Sports.

The two teams came into the contest having drawn 0-0 in their first leg tie last week at Bidvest Stadium.

In this second leg, both sides enjoyed possession of the ball but without really creating many openings in the final third.

However, Mukura did eventually create as Ciza and Christophe came close to an opening strike for the hosts.

David Nshimirimana proved to be the match-winner in the second half as he headed home to put his side ahead.

Stars tried to respond when Yusuf Jappie replaced Nyiko Mobbie for the final half an hour of the contest.

Yet, it was not to be as last season’s Nedbank Cup champions were eliminated on the day leaving Kaizer Chiefs as South Africa’s remaining participants in the tournament, after they defeated Zanzibar’s Zimamoto on Tuesday.
