Free State Stars midfielder Nhlanhla Vilakazi is suspended for Wednesday night’s league game with Bidvest Wits, who have Daine Klate back from a ban.
The match takes place at the Goble Park Stadium and is scheduled for a 19H30 kick off.
Currently in 14th place on the standings, Stars are looking for a win which would give them breathing space above the drop zone, while the visitors are leading the league standings and on course for a first ever Premiership title.
Ea Lla Koto go into Wednesday’s game on the back of a 1-0 defeat away to another title-chasing side, Cape Town City, a match in which Vilakazi accumulated a fourth yellow card and a one match ban. Striker Allen Nono and Thabo Maphakisa are unavailable for selection due to injury.
Head coach Serame Letsoaka did, however, see positives in the way his side stretched a high-flying Cape Town City side and felt his charges deserved more from the game.
“The boys played well, in the first half we had a lot of discipline in terms of not opening ourselves and this frustrated Cape Town City a lot.
“We could have got a goal from one of the counters. And especially in the second half after the goal, the game opened up and we attacked a little bit better. A fair result would have been a draw.
“But we pick ourselves up with three games to go and nine points to play for. We will fight with everything that we have for the next match,” he promised.
The Students, meanwhile, approach the game in with a great shot at winning the championship after their 1-0 win over Maritzburg United on Sunday kept them three points above Mamelodi Sundowns.
